It's not really dispersed. There are well maintained campsites with fire pits and BBQs. There's potable water at multiple spigots throughout. There are 20 spots with one occupied by the camp hosts who are the nicest people we've met camping in a long time. Reception is almost nonexistent on cell phones and radios. It is an OHV staging area, so especially on summer weekends, it's busy and loud. Many of the riders don't follow the rules and are rude about it - they don't like "weirdos" in "their" campground. The law enforcement picks and chooses which laws he wants to enforce at any moment, so be wary of that, because he's always watching. Middle Creek has a couple of decent swimming holes as of Memorial Day weekend 2023. Clear Lake, Blue Lakes, Lake Pillsbury, and Lake Mendocino are near by.
