This is a weekend hangout spot for the locals. I stayed on a Saturday night and someone was down the road doing target practice at some junked cars. The trash is mostly from people dumping stuff. There was a bed frame down the ridge where I camped. Only one decent spot here, all the others are exposed and near the junked cars and old washing machines. Honestly, I didn’t feel totally safe here. Several people had spent the night at turnouts on the road leading up to the turnoff for this spot. Probably a better option
Did not stay here. Sketch location. Huge potholes. Treacherous path. Trash everywhere.
This place is very secluded but there is a lot of scattered trash laying around.
We lost service a couple miles in and turned back. Ended up staying about a half mile passed the National Forest sign on a little turnout. Little bit of trash around, including random clothing. Weird. Several cars passed each day, a few camper vans but mostly people driving cars into the forest. We had a couple bars with Verizon and nothing with T-Mobile. Several turnouts before the National Forest that may or may not be okay to park, but we stayed in the forest where we knew we were okay.
Lots and lots of places to set up camp here, yes the trash can get bad in some area just be sure to pack out what you bring in. Great little place, nature sounds all around, main road not that far away with 5G for those with T-Mobile.
