Previous reviews are still accurate. Sundays there is a swap meet in the first parking lot area and there’s plenty of space available (even on a 4th of July weekend). Others parked here overnight. Sign says they close the gates at 8pm but I didn’t verify. Area is clean! If you see trash, please pick it up. There’s about 100 parking spaces, all fairly level. I’d say about 15 spaces were taken overnight. Sunday daytime got busy, but maybe that’s because of the swap meet. Lots of grass and a little playground.
Great spot for an overnight or two. As other reviews have stated, there are other vehicles here overnight. The parking lot is large, and there are multiple fields adjacent to the lot that are a great space for the dogs to run. Please clean up after your pets! Leave no trace, and keep this safe place open for all.
Glad we found this place. You can park for 72 hours. Quiet at night. The community center seems to be open only at specific times, so their bathrooms are locked. But there are portapotties on site.
Huge lot with lots of space for everyone! Quiet at night, everyone respectful and to themselves. Please do right by cleaning up after yourself so this can be a spot enjoyed by all.
Nice spot with a gym. $25 day pass gets you a workout, water, and a shower. Lots of other campers in the parking lot. Long walk to downtown, but a safe spot for several nights- no one cares here.. it’s a chill town.
I found this spot on the app. There’s trash, water, wi-fi and no one cares how long you stay. Visit the Mad River county park at low tide for jade hunting.
Awesome place to park in Arcata. Had no trouble sleeping here for two weeks straight and leaving during the day. Seriously don’t ruin it by being disrespectful. Park in the lines, be discreet. I can’t believe I even have to write this, but on the last night sleeping here someone pulled in with an entire RV and left it here across 5 parking spots. It’s not a campground. There’s a rather large homeless population here. Don’t ruin it for the locals who need it by acting entitled.
Nice enough place. But got a knocks at 1030 pm.
