Easily accessible free BLM campground about 20-25 minutes from Yellowstone. The campground backs up to the Yellowstone river, but trees and other vegetation block the river views at most sites. There is a boat ramp down to the river, it may be a popular spot for rafters in the summer. There is a pit toilet and a 14 day stay limit. No trash/recycling, please pack-in pack-out!! We had about two bars of verizon LTE and almost nothing for AT&T. As of 9/8/2020, a sign says the site will be closed until 11/18/2020 for renovations. Other BLM campgrounds in the area charge $7/night, so not sure if they plan on charging after renovations are complete. See photo for more details.

Should be re-opening soon with all-new access road, remodeled campsites but they will be designated with no dispersed camping allowed.
