Foster Pond is a pond into the forest a bit off the road Potomac Road. Right off the road there is a parking lot where you would leave your car if you were to walk to the pond. This is directly across the street from Chicken Coop Road. There is no sign that says you are not allowed to camp in the parking lot. Several other parking lots in the Fingerlakes National Forest has signs saying no camping in parking lot, but not here. We stayed here one night in December 2020 in our 118 wheelbase Promaster van. The parking lot could probably fit 5-8 vehicles. No toilet, no picnic table, one bar cell coverage with Verizon LTE. Not an overly romantic spot but works for a night or two.

The previous reviewer was pretty accurate. One bar of Verizon. Hiking trail down the road. Lake through the woods. Camped with my dogs in the parking lot two nights, Saturday and Sunday, with no problems. Woods were quiet. Cell service was uninterrupted the entire stay. Not much I could complain about. Owned by the U.S. Forrest Service.
