Free campground outside of city park in Big Springs, TX. First come, first serve. Park itself closes in the evening, but entrance to camp area is before gate to park itself so can get in any hour. Picnic tables, BBQ grills, and paved parking spots. There is not restroom in the campground, but there is one inside the park, not too far from...

Super nice little park about a mile away from Walmart. With super fast internet on Verizon. Some camp areas have a little grill or rock fire pit and picnic tables. Very nice city park next door.
Very close small spots right by the highway and a golf course. Didn’t feel especially safe to me. Free in an area where there’s not many options for non-RV camping.
Free camping! Next to a large park, with easy access to the main road, this campground is first come first serve. All but one spot is back in/pull in only, so larger rigs may have issues unless you can get in the first spot, shown in my pic. We were pulling a trailer behind a sprinter and had enough room from there to turn around and exit the campground. As the other reviewers mentioned, the campground is open 24/7 but the park next door closes at 10pm, so if your gps routes you through the park, just stay on the main road. And bonus! If you come in December you can catch a pretty incredible drive thru Christmas lights experience! We accidentally went through it on the way to the campground, but it’s free to experience and impressively big!
Clean and free for 5 days! Also, great cell service.

Nice little city park campground. Clean and quiet (mid February).
