Stayed 10/15/20. Had the place to myself on Thursday night. Users just need to possess a current Virginia hunting or fishing license.
Moderately clean WMA with lots of trails. Super quiet and very little traffic in and out. Most traffic was people coming in to fish. Lots of parking available. I aimed for the loop to park at as it provided some great openness at night to stargaze. Lots of great trails throughout the WMA to trek. No access to water, electricity, or dumpsters. Permit required.
Lots of space here to park. Compared to other WMA’s I've been to, this one has a lot of hiking trails and wildlife. My favorite part was how to open near the southern pond parking lot is as it provided some great night photography. Spoke to a few people who were fishing and super nice and welcoming. In the 48-hours I stayed, it was mostly people fishing but not heavily trafficked by any means. A permit is required which you can obtain online and is super easy. No electric, water access, restrooms, or garbage. Pretty clean but found myself picking up some trash near kiosks.
