Small, designated parking/camping spot on Gass Peak Rd in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. Room for 3 vans, if you like being close to each other, and a larger flat area beyond the fence where tents and chairs can be set up, which also has a fire ring. There is a gate at the entrance to the refuge that closes from sunset to 4am, so you must enter before it closes. The gate will open automatically if it senses a vehicle trying to leave during the night, but won’t open for vehicles trying to enter. Beautiful views and mostly peaceful with the exception of some occasional jet noise and other vehicles driving past.
