Stayed here almost a week - only overnight and not by day. I really enjoyed Southport’s charm which is why I stayed a week. Everyone was super nice here. I work by day online and went to Smithville District Park (signal is great here compare to the waterfront) or Southport by the waterfront to work. At WM, there were several semis parked and a few night a camper and car camper. We all parked at the back of the lot. Pretty quiet though next to main road as there is a grassy lot and water runoff to reduce noise. Ran into an officer at the park and he was interested in car camping as a back backer and recommended I stay at WM before I told him I was. So, that comforted me even more.

Inquired about parking overnight. The manager told me there were signs for “no overnight parking”, but they would not ask me to leave or call the cops on me. They directed me to park at the front of the parking lot, near the street, where there were lots of “no overnight parking” signs. I thought I was being set up and went somewhere else…
