Overnight Parking
Found this spot on another app. Gravel lot with some concrete pads right next to a bike path, river front, and popular bars and restaurants in the heart of the Arts District. Lots of other public parking lots around without any no overnight signs and a public bathroom. This is a popular up and coming area with lots of people and families around. The lot was still very busy at 7 pm. I saw a couple vanlifers in other lots, but they didn't stick around for the night and no one else was in this lot. It's an old run down industrial area that is clearly being made nice, but it might still have a ways to go before most people would be comfortable parking here.
Previous review said it was run down and no other folks stayed overnight. I’m thinking it was because of the time of year that the review was created. Just was there 2 days ago and it felt completely safe with 6 or so other vans parked down by the river. Certainly used to be an industrial prt of town, but it’s not sketchy
Can't beat the location. There are currently NO signs that say "no overnight parking" or anything. Was busy with trail folks out for an evening stroll between 6 and sundown, but afterwards it was just us and another camper or two. A local we chatted with said most parking all along this strip of the river arts district is chill for an overnight as long as there aren't signs. Trail traffic picked back up around 8 or 9am. Of course exercise a little stealth and a lot of manners if you park here, don't ruin it for everyone else! Best parking in our opinion was near the concrete slab remnants at the furthest corner from the lot entrance. Flat as hell and morning shade too! Trash cans are just a short walk up or down the trail.
Unfortunately there is now signs that say no overnight parking.
I parked there for one night without a problem. Noisy area but other than that it was fine.
Sadly this spot is now fenced off. Looks like some developer bought it :( but there are still options for overnighting worth exploring elsewhere along riverside and the river arts district here!
