Large pullout spot off of Mormon Wells Rd in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. No signs and the refuge rules on the website say camping is allowed in existing pullout spots off roads. There is a gate at the entrance to the refuge that closes from sunset to 4am, so you must enter before it closes. The gate will open automatically if it senses a vehicle trying to leave during the night, but won’t open for vehicles trying to enter. Beautiful views and mostly peaceful with the exception of some occasional jet noise and other vehicles driving past.
