Water Station
We stayed here at the end of August, it's a wonderful state park that costs $17/night if you have the Michigan state park pass. Without the pass it's around $30/night due to extra fees. There are pit toilets all around but no showers. If you are along the water you can go swimming, just be careful as it's an all rock beach so it can be difficult to walk out into the water. The campsites are a bit small most sites are right on top of another site, but that seems to be the norm in Michigan state parks. Our biggest issue with this state park is the biting flies. They are everywhere and we had a hard time escaping them. At one point we had about 20 inside our van and every time we would cook we would be swarmed by them. I'm not sure if that's how it normally is here or not. We stayed around August 26th.
There is clean drinking water in the park, but that is about all the amenities. The toilets are gloried port-a-potties. The awesomeness is when your camping spot it on the water. Very quiet, plenty of room between campsites, and a lot of great views. $17/nite with the state of Michigan recreation pass.
