Easy gravel road with about 6-10 camping spots. Gorgeous views of the Mountains to the east and lovely sunset views of the city to the west. It is very quiet and there’s a hiking trail nearby. There were a few trailers/RVs - I could see this spot being very busy on the weekends.
BLM land, great spots, perfect view. Big ditch in road in middle going up hill, 4x4 recommended on that part. There’s also a Mountain Bike trail as well. 2 bars for Verizon LTE. Close to town (about 18 minutes).
This place is terrific. Incredible view of Organ Mountains. Mostly quiet. Good data signal. And when I got my rig stuck in some loose gravel (really need 4wd & high clearance to go past the trailhead) a small band of fellow campers helped dig and tow me out. Really great energy here.
tbh, I saw this and thought it was too good to be true. It’s an awesome spot. Stayed for the week to work as it has near perfect cell coverage. Gorgeous mountain views with ample parking. Not private in the slightest but the people and rangers are friendly. The gravel road has spots available for tents or RV/vans and at the end is a dirt path to unlimited camping if you’re brave(be careful during rain). 6 minutes up the road is Dripping Springs Natural Area with TONS of trails through the mountains, a bathroom and a visitor center. 14 minutes from the city for basically everything you can imagine.
