Due to current public health conditions, backcountry camping is unavailable. Primitive backcountry camping is available in the dunefield. Permits are required and may be picked up at the entrance station along Dunes Drive. This camping is along a 2-mile loop trail throughout the dunes and is limited to 10 campsites.

The camping area is currently closed. I overheard the ranger say that's probably close for another year until it heals itself from people
