National Forest just outside of Santa Fe approx 20 minutes drive. Last 1.5 mi is well kept dirt road. Large open area with lots of space for dispersed camping, pretty view of the mountains in the back. Pit toilets available. Also had 1 Bar T-Mobile LTE reception.

This place is convenient and close to Santa Fe, but it’s dusty, the grass is at least 2 feet high, which makes it hard for chairs and cooking because the grass has barbed hitchhikers (not sure of the technical name) and there’s A lot of litter. It’s very sad to see. The further you drive past the main roads, you’ll see an abandon motorhome and lots and lots of garbage, And the smell fish was horrendous.

Rough roads, especially without a 4x4, but lots of space and quiet.

Wanted to be away from the city, but close enough to go back in the morning. This spot was perfect! Saw a lot of RVs and other vanlifers and everyone kept to themselves. It was a nice quiet night, you could park near the crowd or go further into the forest and be away from everyone.

Easy to navigate. Lots of people camping but a lot of extra space on the land that it was secluded. Google maps did initially bring us to the wrong spot about 12miles south of the actual spot. Make sure to look at the map when plugging in the coordinates. Would camp here again.

Great spot! Easy for bigger RV’s to get in and out, lots of loops. Plenty of space out here! Shrubs for some shade.

Super close to Santa Fe, easy fo access, lots of spots (most of them pretty leveled) with trees and privacy, trails to go for a run or a walk, views… can’t hope for more than that. When you get there you’re on road 24 you’ll have the toilets on the left and most people stay on both sides of the road, but if you keep going until you cross road 64, turn right and in there you’ll get tons of more private spots and wayyyy less people. (Read circle on the picture I attached). The road is less accessible though and there are some holes, so be careful if it has rained before. Yes I did hear some gun shots but honestly they were not bad, not so frequent and felt pretty far away. It did not ruin everything else about that spot that’s really great.

A reliable spot if you’re looking for something close to Santa Fe or Albuquerque. The farther you get from the main road the less viable options you will have and more garbage around. With that said, I’ve stayed here a few times on my way through the area and have never had any issues. Privacy is dependent on the way of how people keep to themselves and the relative distance you can be from other people. Some roads are better than others, there are two main roads with multiple “sites” with less prickly grass. All in all this one trades some comforts for convenience, but really it’s a solid stay if you’re willing to compromise. Also, it’s up in the air if there’s toilet paper in the vault toilets.

Close proximity to Santa Fe and tons of spots but the gun shots were a bit alarming.

Easy to get to, plenty space, signal good. Weather was superb at end of September. Dog park on the way next to Animal Shelter & Humane Society at the main road, golf course, historic trail along the way. Gun range nearby but was not too loud or busy. There was some trash, picked up what I could.

Convenient to Santa Fe. Lots of fifth wheel trailers and class As. I went all the way around the dirt road and found plenty of dispersed spots that were far from the main camping area. However, the garbage (tires, old couches) put me off so I headed back close to the main area and found a little privacy.

It’s not bad but there’s a lot of room for improvement. There’s pull offs on the BLM land on the gravel road before you get to the trailhead camp area but those areas are littered with excessive amounts of trash. Near where the trailhead is and where you’ll find the pit toilet is in better shape but still has trash around. The toilets closed during the week with no notice and no reopening yet as of four days later so I had to set up tarps to get some bathroom privacy as I’m not fully enclosed. It seems that there are some long term residents and lots of dogs without leashes as you walk the roads. Not ideal for me and my leashed dog. It’ll work for sure as I’ve been here all week but again needs to be cleaned up and have the bathrooms opened again. Also, bullet holes everywhere.

Huge area with lots of dirt and scrub. Nothing fancy, but great easy place to stay for the night.
