Just needed a place to stay for the night before continuing west. This was a great find! All the camp sites were taken but we were able to park our promaster at the very end without any trouble. Make sure to take the hike down to the river below, it is stunning and a great way to cool off.
Beautiful and quiet! We camped here April 12 which is still early in the season so there were only two others. Unfortunately, that meant no pit toilet but the peace and quiet made up for that. It’s on a dead end road so there’s no traffic. The road is unpaved and had lots of potholes, so take your time. If you don’t have 4x4, I wouldn’t risk it if it’s been raining for several days. Otherwise, easy access. There was a scenic trail at the end of the road and lots of covered shelter spots for group hangs. Most of the designated campsites had easy, level, pull in parking, plus there’s a small gravel lot to park in case all of the sites are taken. You’ll drive through a cute little town with a marketplace on the way here. Loved it!
I was hesitant as there were no reviews. LOVED the park. There was only one other car that was also car camping. Each area (from what I could tell) was not marked. Verizon service was great. I streamed a movie. I was able to find the Porta potty but brought toilet paper with me. No trash bins. I felt safe and secure.
You can NOT bring a large RV or Trailer here. Spent $500 for a tow. That being said it did look quite beautiful. Camp's were well spaced apart and large. Lots of trails. If you have a van or smaller it's worth the drive. I also noticed rest rooms while passing through. Two bars Verizon cell service.
Definitely recommend! Popped a tent up next to the creek and stayed a few days! No RV spots. Seen about 8 camping lots (could be more but unsure). Only one other tent camper there when i visited. Very peaceful with occasional hiker or car driving past to get to trails!
