Camping are with several sites surrounded by live oak. Cell service was ok, and this area is close to Charleston. Access via maintained dirt road. This boondocking spot is beautiful! It has 8 sites available with plenty of space between sites. Perfect location for hiking, biking, fishing, bird watching and more.
Awesome quiet area. About 8 sites or so. But people parked in the center grass area as well. Busier on weekend. Everyone has left already this early afternoon(Sunday). Great trails, gators, fish and bird. Plenty of wildlife to take in. Definitely being repellent of some kind. Once it cools off with a slight breeze, then it’s fine. Each site has a fire pit with grate. Super clean. Easy to navigate
Beautiful site. Long road in opens up to about 8-10 camp sites on the circle(outside), and I had stayed through the weekend and saw several larger rigs pull into the middle grounds as well. Fire rings and picnic tables at most sites. Pack in pack out, no amenities. Few hiking trails. Requires online permit, or permit at kiosk but there were none when I pulled in. Had seen several different types of campers. Car, van, TT, and rvs. Stayed 3 nights and loved it.
We have stayed here a couple of times and love it! The scenery is beautiful and it's awesome if you have bikes to ride around. Be careful, if you choose to go walk best the swampy areas, there are alligators! Great place to go!
Nice spot with about 8 "first come first served" spots. Bring Bugspray. 4 day maximum stay, nice DNR ranger said hi.
