The is a picnic area at the top of what I know as Fort Lancaster Hill. There are four shaded tables some with grills all with trash barrels. This a a beautiful clean place to spend a night. This is the desert edge of hill country here is Texas and as such is dry much of the year. The are no restrooms or amenities here. Bring your own water. If you plan to use a grill be sure to have a way to extinguish your fire. There is usually a breeze here. And it is a beautiful clean area, where you might see deer, sheep and other wildlife common to this area.
Free, with tables and trash cans. And an amazing view. Not far from I10 and has cell service
Great overnight spot. We were the only ones there. Some other sites say that you can't turnaround with a trailer but we had not issues with our 30 foot trailer since the back of the lot is wider and there was no one else there. There's a trail that overlooks the valley that starts from the end of the parking lot.
Stayed here 1 night and it was perfect. I was the only one, quiet and beautiful♥️ very much appreciate the reviews that helped me find it.
