Somerset Airfield Campground Somerset, Vermont GPS: 42.953344, -72.989602 Elevation: 1918' We arrived late afternoon on a Friday near the end of foliage season. After turning off Rt 9 onto Somerset Road, you travel about 6 miles down a gravel road alongside the Deerfield River to get to campsite access road, Airport Road (or Forest Road 7). The site is well marked and there are about a dozen campsites with fire pits. There is no real barrier between sites but the sites are pretty large so you aren’t tripping over your neighbors. We had plenty of room when we were there with an empty spot on either side of us. There are two bathrooms (pit toilets), one at each end of the campgrounds and they were well maintained and stocked. There are signs that this is active Black Bear country and you need to keep your food and garbage locked and secured. We did have minimal cell service (1 bar) with AT&T
