This stretch of beach is secluded and quiet, but breathtakingly gorgeous! Both Flounder Bay Lane and Cabana Lane have signs for 72 hour parking, but I have seen more than one stealth camper there--most recently I spotted a Westfalia chillin on Cabana Lane. It's unbelievable that a spot this scenic is so unknown in the PNW; you'll definitely get those Instagram shots of the amazing view out of your van doors! That being said, it is in a residential area with a lot of retirees, so be extra quiet and respectful if you stay here! Be warned, though: the very end of the beach, at the end of Cabana Lane, is a private area for local residents only. There is a chain-link fence that extends to where the beach starts, so just don't go up onto the grass past that point. There are bathrooms and picnic tables and fire pits on the grass on the other side of the fence, but they are only for residents. That being said, IF you stay exclusively on the beach, you CAN walk down all the way till the end, where there is a small house (mostly used for weddings/parties), and just beyond it are the start of some great hiking trails around the perimeter of the Washington Park peninsula! I've seen a lot of non-residents walk those trails, as long as they respectfully don't use the facilities on the grass past the chain-link fence. Discover this quiet, lovely park by simply turning left from Sunset Ave down Skyline Way, driving all the way down past the boat yards and the marina, all the way till the end of the road! If you need it, there is a Wi-Fi hotspot at the Old Salts Deli halfway down, on the corner of Sands and Skyline. Lastly, I have seen a whale watching tour place nearby, if you're interested in that; I don't know if they're open but the billboard/phone number is pictured! Be respectful and quiet of the retirees, and enjoy 😊
