Grand Canyon Visitor Center is close to Mather Point, where most visitors park and get their first look at Grand Canyon. Four large parking areas are located here as well as the transit center for the park's free shuttle buses.
There is purified water refill stations outside the restrooms by the visitor center. We came here for our first time to see the Grand Canyon! It’s breathtaking and doesn’t even look real. We spent two days here and parked in a couple different areas: once on Desert View Drive 64 with an awesome viewpoint and took the orange shuttle to South Kaibob trailhead then also at the visitor center for more views Mather Point. A friend hiked that first one to the bottom and up Bright Angel in 5 hours 🤯
