South of south entrance to Petrified Forest National Park, off of US Route 180. It is on Petrified Forest Road at US Route 180. There are two gift shops on either side of the road. East lot gift shop is free overnight dry camping. West lot gift shop is $25 plus tax a night and has only electricity, no water and no dump. Trash dumpsters on site for use. No bathrooms or showers at either lot. Gift shops have some snacks and canned drinks.

Wish there were more places like this! The free dry camping spots have shaded picnic tables and it’s a great little stop. Nothing fancy but such a cool thing from a small private shop. Bathrooms inside the gift shop

Pretty basic site on the road. Basically just a gravel parking lot with some tables. Sign on fence says no tents or van camping which is what we needed.
