Had a couple people fishing in spot but left early. No other guests came all night and next day. Stayed sun-mon.
Alright y’all, this is a hidden gem for sure! Located within Jekyll Island State Park, this site is tucked away in a back parking lot through some low hanging trees that opens up to a large grassy area beside the fishing pond and overlooked by a large water slide. We came in at dusk and parked along side some tall shrubs. I can’t imagine this is a legit spot since the island also has a campground but there are no signs or people who came and checked. There is a fee to enter the island, it automatically detects oversized vehicles and we paid $12 for entry. The parking itself is free.
I was excited for the spacious secluded area but after dark couple cars came around so I chickened out and left.
Good tucked away spot! Arrived around 7:30pm and had two random car drive through between 9:30-10:30 but no one said anything. We were the only ones here until people started launching boats. The bathroom smelled freshly cleaned too!
