Lake Powhatan campground is a very safe spot to camp. There are trails right off of the campground and Lake Powhatan is a short walk away. There are clean bathrooms and showers in the middle of each campground module. Friendly people. Quiet time at 10p. Downtown Asheville, which is a very van life friendly small city, is 15 minutes away.
