There is a large section of the northwest parking lot closest to George L Griffith blvd where large crates are stored. Lots of overnighters (campers, vans, car campers, RVs). I actually stayed for almost 2-3 weeks at this location bc of how comfortable I was while I explored all of Charleston by day (James Island, Downtown, Folly Beach, Mt. Pleasant, Isle of Palms, etc). Never had any issues at this WM. Lights were always on & never felt unsafe. Police cruiser would drive through on occasion. Clean bathrooms & nice workers. Quiet most of the time (you're bound to have a loud auto come through at some point). There is also a walking path near that I would walk my dog on regularly. The lot was clean however def a lot of trash in the woods from those who stayed more permanently in the lot. AT&T cell 1-2 bars, T-mobile hotspot full service as there is a T-Mobile tower in the lot
