There looked to be a central parking/camping area along this road that was bigger than all the others. A very cozy corral with room for parking about 12+ vehicles in the corral and along the road. There were smaller pull offs every so often that could accommodate 1 to 4 vehicles. Some had makeshift fire pits with wood. I accessed this road from the West and believe my GPS said the road was 11 miles to the highway at the other end. It was very rough the entire way for my two wheel drive van. The larger corral area was about 7 miles in. The pull off where I stayed about 7.3 miles. Numerous pull off areas between 7-9 miles. Then residential. The temp was in the 20s at night when I was there and I saw at least 15 other vehicles along the road camping, half of them with tents. So I imagine these spots are very popular in warmer weather, since some of them are right along the water's edge and great for fishing or kayak launches.
We stayed here one night. Only one other car pulled in and had tents set up in the woods. It was quiet and no one bothered us. It does say “Tennessee Wall Campsite” on a sign on a tree at the entrance. It’s like a pullout but a small gravel lot off a windy and bumpy road. There’s another area on the same side of the road a tiny bit further up if this spot is full. Close to some trad climbing walls and a steep trail down to the water. It was raining so we didn’t explore much but walked a little on the trail before it got super steep. Tent areas and a fire ring dug out.
I got about 40 chiggers upon arrival so it’s definitely in nature. Parking lot now only holds 3 cars or small vans but there are pull offs. 10+ tent sites. I met some nice rock climbers here. A bear was digging around for an hour at night near my tent. Several people were parked sleeping in Camrys and one van lifer. Bummer is that it’s far from the river. It’s 6.6 miles down a basically one lane road. A 15-20 minute walk further takes you to rock climbing.
It wasn't the easiest to find but once you are here it is amazing!
