I ended up here out of necessity after my truck broke down on the highway and was towed to a dealership in Elkins, but I was very lucky and pleased to find an open spot on the 4th of July in First Come/First Served camping. Our site had 30amp hookups, a campfire grill and picnic table, and a flat pad for tents in addition to the paved driveway which was ample for my camper. It was near a clean water source, and convenient to the dumpster and bathroom. Bathrooms were kept pretty clean and stocked, even despite the holiday. The campground host, Bill, was very friendly and helpful. I was there as a solo female traveler and felt quite safe and comfortable the whole stay. The only drawback to me was the lack of Verizon cell service in the area--nonexistent outside of Elkins proper. I hear AT&T gets signal in the area.
